You can listen to all three podcast episodes here but why not subscribe to our podcast channel.

In Episode One, we explore how and why people came to work at Kings Cross Railway Station with some going back to the age of steam. There are descriptions of the station and neighbourhood in those years. We also look at the ease of getting work at the station but also the difficulties some faced.

In episode two, we look at how workers started out and how they got the skills for their work; their stories from across the station, as well as on board the trains.

In the third and final episode, we explore the joys and pain of the work; the pay and conditions; the role of the union and the impact of privatisation on the work.
